Monday’s Tip of the Week: When refurbishing content, make sure that you
don’t plagiarize. Read three or more
articles on the topic that you want to write about, take notes, close down your
browser and then write. It is better to go
the extra mile to take notes and write the content in your own words then to
have to get a lawyer.
Content marketing is quickly becoming the number one way to
market products online. It is an ingenuous
way of engaging the consumer and winning customer trust and loyalty. Major companies like Sears, Colgate and Coca
Cola have begun using content marketing to win customers over. So it is more than reasonable that you would
want to know how to get content for your blog or website.
Consistently offering quality content to your customers for
free might seem like a daunting task but it really is quite easily done. The chances are that you will not be able to
get someone to write your content for you for free. Get used to the idea that if you want free content you are
going to have to write it yourself. Don’t
let this alarm you. There are many
supports for you to use to come up with ideas for your article topics as well
as content. Consider the following
paragraphs for tips on how to get topics and content for your website or blog.
Review Training
If you are like many of us, you have taken training. Relevant training could be a class that you
have taken offline, an email course or some other online training. Review the training. If the training has aspects in it that would
answer questions that your readers would ask, then go back through the training
and take notes on it. Use these notes to
write an article(s) that would interest your readers.
Barnes and Noble Books
Visit Barnes and Noble, any other bookstore or the
library. Choose several books in your
niche and go through them. Take plenty
of notes. Look for lists. Lists make really good articles.
Articles and Blogs Online
Surfing the net when you need content is perfectly acceptable. There are millions of articles to search through. Many known successful bloggers admit that some of the ideas that they get are gotten from articles that are already in existence. It is not steeling to get your inspiration from someone else. Just do a Google search for your niche and then sort through the many results. You are sure to get some ideas from the listed articles. Don't ever copy the articles that you find word for word. Always take your notes and then write using your own words.
Public Domain Works
These works are writings that were either never protected by
copyright law or are no longer protected by copyright law. You can access these works for free. You are free to use these works however you
please. Once again, to remind you of the
penalties for duplicate content online, make sure that you rewrite the sections
of the books and/or articles in your own words.
Conclusion
Content marketing is a way of offering helpful information
to the consumer. Content marketing
allows the consumer to benefit whether or not they buy from the company. This builds a trusting relationship with
between the company and the consumer.
The consumer is much more likely to become a lead or to buy something
from you once they have read your content and has had the chance to know you,
like you and trust you. I hope that this article has been
helpful. Good luck with your content
marketing!
