A lot of buzz goes on when you start talking about creating
your own reality. Whether the
participants in the conversation believe or do not believe that it is
possible to create your own reality, they certainly most often have an opinion
about it.
Whether we agree that we create our own reality or don’t
agree that we create our own reality, there certainly must be agreement that we
can only do the things that we believe we can do. This article is going to discuss the
connection between our beliefs and our reality.
The Way that We Create Our Own Reality
We form our beliefs from our experiences and these beliefs that we form makes our reality. Google defines a belief as “an acceptance
that a statement is true or that something exists.” A belief is a statement
about our existence that we feel is real.
Feel instead of think is used here because we can know that something
can’t logically exist but feel that it does.
As long as we feel that it exists, it exists for us.
So if we believe that something is too hard to do, something
will never work out or money is too hard to come by, then for us these
statements are a reality.
If you think that money is too hard to come by then whenever
you try to make money you will find that it is difficult to make money. No matter what you try, as long as you hold
this belief, money will not come easily.
Our Reality Is Mostly Made Up of Our Beliefs
Whatever jobs you take or businesses you start will be shaped by your beliefs. Whatever can or
cannot be done is determined by whatever you feel can or cannot be done. If you believe it cannot be done then it’s a
fact that you will not be able to do it.
Your belief that it can’t be done will even keep you from trying to do
it.
Take Steve Jobs for instance. There were very few things that he believed
cannot be done. In his reality, just
about anything could be done. That is a
reality that allows for great things to come forth.
Many of the roadblocks to success that we face in life are a
result of our beliefs. We can’t get past
them because we don’t believe we can get past them. Therefore we don’t try everything possible to
get to success.
We Control Our Reality
We have seen earlier in this article how our beliefs are the
limiting factor in our reality. It is a
known fact that in order to accomplish something we must first believe that it
can be accomplished. This is evidence
that we make our own reality. If we want
to change our reality we only need to change our beliefs.
