Wednesday’s Wisdom: If you want to be successful in any
occupation there is no question that you will need to lead by good example.
There is no question that the best way to get revenge is to live
well. However if you want to leave a
legacy then live by leading a good example.
Most people look down on ambition, hard work, discipline and
getting ahead in life. They tend to
ostracize those that make the noble attempt to be different and go the extra
mile. They prefer to take the easy way
out and would prefer that others would follow suit. They make it challenging to lead by good
example.
One should not look at them harshly, though. Finding a comfort zone and settling into an
average life is tempting. Peer pressure
is always present to live beneath our standards.
If you want great rewards, however, you have to resist the
pressure to accept the average and the ordinary and make a commitment to living
in a way that is memorable. A way that
coincides with your dreams and goals.
It is never too late to begin to lead by good example. It will be tough but you have to stay
committed. You have to resist the notion
to limit your amount of tries. Accept
that it is important to prepare ahead to make the profitable choices. As far as those who do not support you,
figure out ways to deal with them.
Upon the onset of your transformation to a healthier more
prosperous life people will think that it is a temporary change and that it
will soon pass. They may even laugh at
you when you express that you will start getting up earlier. They may even tease you when you reject
alcohol, sweets or bread. They may even
ask how long it is going to last. Don’t
worry about answering such questions. It
is more important to let your actions speak louder than your words.
You will find that most of the negative people in your life
will be just teasing. They will do so
because they will feel threatened. They
will have a fear that you will be leaving them behind. You know, however, that nothing could be
further from the truth. Your hopes would
be, of course, to bring them along with you.
Once they realize that your goal is not to leave them behind but to lead
them to better things they will become your strongest supporters. Some of them will even become star students.
If you lead by good example by doing the right things you
will begin to be seen as a leader. Many
people want a better life, they just don’t know how to go about getting
it. They would be more than happy to
have you as a role model.
When you lead by good example you will find that it is
easier to convince people to become active in ways that you see are good for
them.
That is what you really want to see, isn’t it. You want people to make better life
choices. To get more sleep, to eat
healthier, to work out each day, etc.
Motivation to do these things will come to them once they see that you
have made the decision to lead by good example.
We ourselves need to surround ourselves with people who are
positive and good mentors. This will
help us to see things that are possible.
This will inspire us to achieve more than we thought was possible.
Don’t let the chiding and teasing of negative people keep
you from attaining your goals and dreams.
You will see that in time, if you lead by good example, you will turn
many of those negative people into supporters and some will even follow.
